Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
 
Ten years after St. Junípero Serra established Mission San Gabriel Arcángel, “El Pueblo de Nuestra Señora de Los Ángeles” was founded on September 4, 1781.  Originally a settlement of native tribes, European missionaries, and  Mexican Pobladores, the City of Los Angeles has grown in size and diversity under the protection and care of Our Lady of the Angels.
 
Join Archbishop José H. Gomez for the One Mother, Many Peoples Mass in honor of Our Lady of the Angels, patroness of the City and the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels on Saturday, August 26, 2023.  Dances from various cultures in the Archdiocese will begin at 3 p.m., followed by the Holy Rosary in multiple languages; Mass with Archbishop Gomez will begin at 4 p.m.
 
Through the intercession of Our Lady of the Angels, we ask her Son to grant us his peace and unity in his love.
